Remco (15) and Lizzy (13) help out their dad, who import and sell puppies illegally for a living. One day, they are asked to go to the river to drown the puppies who are too sick to be sold. Remco films his sister throwing one of the puppies into the river, and posts the video online. The video soon spreads, and triggers a wave of violent and hateful comments towards the two teenagers. Even though Lizzy is barely recognizable, someone figures out who she is, and soon the consequences for posting the video becomes grave. This film is based on real events, and shows us how big the consequences of inappropriate content and anonymous hate-comments online can get.
Wednesday to friday, director Ben Brand will be present to introduce some of the screenings of the film.
