Seventeen year old Valeria is seven months pregnant. She lives in the Mexican coast town Puerto Vallarta with her half sister, Clara, where she is planning the future with her boyfriend, Mateo. Valeria does not want for her absent mother, April, to know about the pregnancy. Despite her wishes, her sister finds it necessary to call their mother due to their unstable economic situation and the overwhelming responsibility of raising a child. April returns to help her daughters, but it soon becomes clear why Valeria wanted her to stay away.
