Newtopia to Kosmorama 2020!

We have the pleasure to announce that Audun Amundsen’ s documentary Newtopia will be screened at Kosmorama 2020!

The documentary follows Amundsen, who wants to escape his modern life if Norway. He moves from Trondheim to the jungle in Indonesia to live with one of the last remaining traditional indigenous tribes in the world.

During his search of the simple life, Amundsen learns that it’s difficult to escape the modern world. His vision of how life in the jungle is supposed to be collides with the Mentawai-people’s desire for renewal. The clan’s leader, Aman Paksa, is torn between two worlds that are proven difficult to unite. Amundsen followed the tribe for more than 14 years, and Newtopia provides a unique insight into how a tribal society adapts to the modern world.

Today, Audun Amundsen is a member of The Explorers Club, in exclusive company with renowned names such as Roald Amundsen and Neil Armstrong.

There will be several screenings of the film during the festival week, the premiere being on Wednesday the 4th of March at 8.30 PM at Prinsen Cinema Center. Read more about the film, screening times and get your tickets here
