In Charter, we meet Alice (Ane Dahl Torp), who hasn’t seen her two children in two months after going through a bitter divorce. One night, her son calls in the middle of the night, sounding upset. To see her kids again, Alice has to take drastic measures.

Charter comes to Trondheim directly from Sundance, one of the most renowned film festivals worldwide. After it’s screening there, it has received praise from audience and critics alike, critics emphasising Dahl Torp’s ability to portray the lead as a woman and mother with great nuance and complexity.

Amanda Kernell has written and directed the film. Her last feature, the debut film Sami Blood, made Kernell one of the most interesting voices of Scandinavian film. Sami Blood had its Norwegian premiere at Kosmorama in 2017, where it won the Audience Award. Sami Blood also won a number of other prestigious awards at international film festivals, such as Best Nordic Film at Göteborg and Europe Cinemas Label for best European film at Venice Film Festival.

We look forward to welcoming Amanda Kernell back to Trondheim on March 2nd, and we hope the Kosmorama audience is as excited as we are!

Tickets for the screening of Charter on the opening day are not included in the festival pass. Additional screenings will be announced soon.
