Wendy is a young autistic woman living a routine life in a care home. Everyday life consists of work, walks with Pete the dog and Star Trek. When a contest for Star Trek fans to write a manuscript is arranged, she writes a script with which she wants to participate, but fails to post it on time. The only way to beat the deadline is to travel to Hollywood and deliver the script personally. Wendy's journey presents enormous personal challenges, but is constantly reassured, courtesy of the guidance of Mr. Spock. A close but complicated relationship between Wendy and her sister renders the film a tenderness, while full of glimmers of light and humour. Dakota Fanning performs excellently as the protagonist and the film boasts several famous actors.
