Opening film: Trondheimsreisen

As a part of Trondheim Cinema's 100th anniversary, we are proud to present Trondheimsreisenas this year's opening film.

Trondheimsreisen (2018) is an historical documentary that depicts Trondheim and the city's development from the early 1900s and on through to the 1980s. The film is directed by Magnus Skatvold and produced by Dag Hoel in co-production with Spætt Film. Based exclusively on archive recordings, of which the oldest clip is the crowning of King Håkon in 1906, the film takes us and the city`s inhabitants on a trip through time. Well-known and less familiar voices tell how they have helped shape the city and how the city has shaped them. Among the storytellers are Odd Reitan, Anne B. Ragde, Liv Ullmann and Ulf Risnes. Kristoffer Lo composed the film music, which in turn was recorded by Trondheim Symphony Orchestra.

It is not possible to get tickets for this film at the opening day with a festival pass. You can, however get tickets for the film with a festival pass the rest of the festival week.
