The Mid-Nordic Film Market is the year's most important meeting place for the region's film industry and anyone interested in getting better acquainted with Trøndelag-region's film production. Here the filmmakers present snippets from film productions that are being developed in the region. Audience and press, students and politicians, business and cultural life are invited to an eventful day devoted to film. This year, the market closes with Vårstigen, a pitch of four feature film projects from Trøndelag, Oppland and Hedmark. Up to two winners will be awarded.
Mid-Nordic Film Market is organized by Midtnorsk Filmsenter and Filminvest in cooperation with Kosmorama.
Vårstigen - A short way to long film
Vårstigen is a competition is supposed to stimulate the production of long fiction films in Trøndelag, Hedmark and Oppland: the investment fund Filminvest's closure field. To qualify, applicants must be a team consisting of producer, director and scriptwriter with both sexes represented. Producer and director must be resident and work in the region. Four projects will be selected for the final show during the film market. The jury, consisting of Cecilie Mosli, Hallvard Bræin and Maria Ekerhovd, counts up to two regional feature film projects, which earn 750.000 NOK each, in development support.
Vårstigen is a collaboration between Filminvest, Østnorsk Filmsenter, Midtnorsk Filmsenter and Kosmorama.
