In the occation of the Sámi 100 years anniversary, we are proud to announce that the movie Sámi Blood will have Norwegian premiere at Kosmorama 2017.

Amanda Kernell’s powerful feature debut follows Elle Marja – a teenage Sámi girl in the 1930s who is forcibly removed from her family and sent to a state boarding school. Disillusioned by the treatment she receives at the school, she decides to break with her Sámi identity in order to be accepted into the Swedish society. Through Elle Marja we gain insights into how it was growing up in the Sámi culture in the 1930s, at the same time as we are introduced to how the Sámi people were treated by the society at large – where racial examinations, humiliations and discrimination was a part of every day life.
